EveryStep Immigration Services provides a range of immigration consulting services to our clients. We have a policy of protecting the privacy of our clients in the course of providing services to them. Our relationship with our clients is based upon trust and maintaining client privacy is, therefore, given the utmost priority.

EveryStep Immigration Services recognizes the importance of privacy and the sensitivity of personal information. Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants (RCICs) have a professional obligation to keep all confidential information they receive within a consultant-client relationship. Our in-house RCIC is committed to protecting any personal information he holds.

EveryStep Immigration Services is committed to maintaining the privacy of our clients and taking appropriate management steps to protect any personal information provided to us, which includes practices or rules regarding collection, storage, use, and retention of personal information.

We collect information only by lawful and fair means and not in an unreasonably intrusive way. Wherever possible, we collect your personal information directly from you, at the start of a retainer and in the course of our representation. We may also obtain information about you from other sources, including: (a) a government agency or registry; (b) a third party with your prior consent; (c) your family members; and (d) your authorized agent or representative.

We use your personal information to provide immigration products and services to you, to comply with legislation or CICC's By-law, Code of Professional Ethics, and Regulations, to administer our client billing databases and to include you in any direct marketing activities. Direct marketing activities include providing you with information about our services or about new developments in the immigration law from time to time. If you tell us that you no longer wish to receive information about our services or about new developments in the immigration law, we will not send any further material. Our specific purposes for collecting your personal information include, but are not limited to:

- Establishing and managing client relationships;
- Providing immigration related consulting advice and services;
- Avoiding conflicts of interest;
- Developing and managing our knowledge-management precedent systems and databases;
- Any purpose required to comply with any legal or regulatory requirements or provisions; and
- For any other purpose for which your consent has been obtained.

EveryStep Immigration Services will disclose your personal information under certain circumstances. These circumstances include but are not limited to the following:

- When required or authorized by law or a Canadian court to do so;
- When required by a statute or regulation of Canada;
- When your express or implied consent for the disclosure has been obtained;
- When we have a bona fide belief that the disclosure is required by a provincial law;

EveryStep Immigration Services does not disclose your personal information to any third party to assist the third party in marketing their products or services. EveryStep Immigration Services does not provide our client mailing lists to other firms.

We will securely store personal information using hard copy and/or electronic means in such a way as to prevent unauthorized collection, access, use, disclosure or disposal of the personal information. EveryStep Immigration Services takes all reasonable precautions to ensure that your personal information is kept safe from loss, unauthorized access and disclosure, and modification. Reasonable precautions taken include:

- Premises security;
- Restricted file access to personal information;
- Technological safeguards to prevent hacking, viruses and unauthorized computer access as much as is possible; and
- Implementing and employing internal password and security practices.

Since EveryStep Immigration Services uses your information to provide you with immigration related consulting services, it is important that this information be accurate and up-to-date.

If EveryStep Immigration Services holds information about you and you can establish that it is not accurate, complete and up-to-date, EveryStep Immigration Services will take reasonable steps to correct it.

EveryStep Immigration Services does not use Social Insurance Numbers as a way of identifying or organizing the personal information we hold.

You should be aware that e-mail is not a 100% secure medium, regardless of the steps taken to secure it. You should be aware of this when you are contacting EveryStep Immigration Services using e-mail and when you are sending confidential and personal information to EveryStep Immigration Services using e-mail.

EveryStep Immigration Services regularly reviews all of its policies and procedures and reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time.

If you apply to EveryStep Immigration Services for a job, your personal information is required as part of our review process. We may retain information, including personal information, from our candidates after a decision has been made for one (1) year, unless you ask us not to retain the information. If we offer you a job, which you accept, your information, including your personal information, will be retained in accordance with our privacy procedures for employee records. Information, including personal information, regarding our employees is securely retained on site.

Our Web-site may contain links to other sites which are not governed by this Privacy Policy. Our website monitors traffic patterns, site usage, and related site information in order to optimize our web service. We may provide aggregated information to third parties, but these statistics do not include any identifiable personal information.
